Combining his vast array of influences, Robert Charles Mann pushes the boundaries of music for film, TV and multimedia. With a particular bent toward creating ambiences which include traditional orchestral elements with unusual sounds derived from recording common objects and processing them through a bevy of electronic circuits, the result can be unpredictable yet familiar, troubled or tranquil. This is exemplified by his personal projects such as the ambient Glacier Project, or the live conversions created only of modified and time-stretched wine glasses called Momentums, as well as co-composing with other composers such as Cliff Martinez on films like Espion(s) and Severe Clear among others. This in contrast to working commercially with France Telecom, Ducati and Calvin Klein, makes for a composer who is continually breaking through with new ideas in sounds and music.
