DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) – Prime Minister Bertie Ahern gave himself a hefty pay increase Thursday, putting his salary higher than both President Bush and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Hmmm. It seems I was unaware of the situation in Singapore. So, how do the Singaporeans feel about paying their PM over $2.5 million? Is he worth it? Is life in the city-state really that much better? I only spent 5 days there about 12 years ago – and it was a little…shall we say…tepid in it’s stimulative values.
