Music of the 1980's

There is definitely a recognizable sound that emerged in the pop music world of the 1980's. Usually characterized by early synthesizer sounds from Yamaha's DX7, drum machines from Roland like the TR808, TR909, and a merging of disco rhythms with alt guitar rock from the UK. It was the time of MTV, video killing the radio star, (and there were no people of color on MTV) If you don't recall, you can probably catch a Behind the Music on re-runs on VH1.
