First film fest in USA to recognize Movie Music

Our Head Monk and film composer Andrew Ingkavet has been nominated for Best Movie Music at the upcoming 2009 Garden State Film Festival. It is the first film festival in the USA to add the category for Best Movie Music. The recognition comes for the score for the PBS documentary New Jersey’s Red October and features a minimalist Americana soundtrack performed by Ingkavet with Mike Stidolph.  Congrats Andrew!

Here’s a short clip of the documentary film directed by Nancy O’Mallon.
